FAQ

A white screen has many practical uses: cleaning your monitor (smudges are easy to spot on a bright white background), using a laptop as a soft photography fill light, brightening your face during video calls, and testing your display for dead pixels or uneven backlighting.
Yes — but only on OLED and AMOLED displays, where individual pixels emit their own light. A pure black pixel on these screens is completely off, so a black screen can save significant power. On LCD/IPS monitors, the backlight stays on regardless of content, so a black screen offers minimal power saving.
Open the Dead Pixel Test and go fullscreen. Cycle through white, black, red, green, and blue. A dead pixel will appear as a tiny dot that does not match the current test colour — a black dot on white means dead pixel, a bright dot on black means stuck pixel.
Work with full focus for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break. After four sessions, take a longer 15–30 minute break. This cycle reduces mental fatigue and makes large tasks feel manageable. Our Focus Timer pre-sets these durations, but all values are configurable.
No. All tools run entirely in your browser — no download, no installation, no account required.
Yes. All tools are fully responsive and work on iOS and Android browsers. The pixel test and colour screen tools work especially well on phone screens for checking display quality.
Open the White Screen, go fullscreen, and crank your monitor brightness to maximum. Position the screen at 45° to your subject — a laptop lid works perfectly. For warmer tones, use the Colour Screen and pick a warm orange instead of pure white.
Yes. Open Settings on the Focus Timer to add or remove individual timers, rename them, and mark each as Work or Break. Turn on Auto-continue to move between them without clicking Start each time, and save your own sequence as a named preset to reuse later.
A simple habit for reducing digital eye strain: every 20 minutes, look at something at least 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Our 20-20-20 Eye Rest tool times this for you in the background while you work or study, with an optional sound and browser notification.
Yes. Set a duration and an optional warning threshold — the ring turns amber as you approach it. If time runs out, the timer keeps counting upward in red so you can see exactly how far a session has run over.
